Forget the whole Wordless Wednesday theme. I like to talk so wordless isn’t going to work out for me. This has been a good week for me so far. Monday I got in a three mile walk with my Mom even though it was freezing and had a light drizzle.
Yesterday I went to the gym to run my timed mile since I didn’t feel like doing it on Monday. To be quite honest, I really did not want to run and my stomach didn’t feel like pushing hard through a fast (for me) mile but I did it anyway. Luckily the indoor track wasn’t that busy so I got to avoid quite a bit of bobbing and weaving. I clocked in at 8:35 which is my fastest since starting my little timed mile ritual. If I didn’t feel like I was going to collapse from pushing so hard I probably would have cried tears of elation. It was an awesome feeling and I am so grateful that I am finally seeing results. Nowwwww if we could just translate a timed mile into a 5k then I would be golden.
After my mile I headed on over to Studio 1 for kickboxing class. I adore kickboxing and I always feel like I worked my entire body after punching/kicking a bag for an hour. We had an AMAZING instructor who made us sweat and burn before the three minute warm up was even over. I was super impressed and hopefully she will be teaching that class more in the future. After kickboxing I stuck around for Body Attack. It was the same routine as last week only a different instructor. Luckily I wore my Polar heart rate monitor during class and was able to track how many calories I burn. Hard to believe I torched that many.
I got an email about discounted bowls at Genghis Grill which is right down the road from my gym so I decided to treat myself to lunch there since I had such a great morning of workouts. Yes, I did get both fried and steamed rice in my bowl plus some wonderful chicken and steak tips. This is actually a really small bowl compared to what I used to get. Lunch was delicious and filled me up so nicely that I went home and took a nap.
It has been a great week so far and hopefully after hump day it will be just as good. I signed up for a charity 5k this weekend with my lovely friend Brittney so I’m looking forward to a fun weekend.
Congrats on your timed mile, that’s an awesome time girlie!!
